Italian Novasis infrared gas sensor principle

Summary:

Infrared gas sensor is a simple sensor, in the sensor, the infrared radiation emitted by the light source through the measurement unit, there is gas to be analyzed in the measurement unit. The main components of NDIR sensor are infrared light source, measuring unit (or optical channel), optical filter and infrared photoelectric detector.

Infrared radiation is emitted from the light source, passing through the measuring unit, and the gas to be analyzed is in the direction of the photodetector. The absorption of infrared radiation at a specific wavelength is determined according to the Beer-Lambert law, and the concentration of gas in the measuring cell is calculated by using the change of incident radiation on the photodetector. The light detector is equipped with an optical filter that inhibits radiation to all wavelengths except those absorbed by the gas to be analyzed, allowing measurement of the highly selective sensor of the gas.

Detection principle:

In theory, all gases whose molecules consist of two or more distinct atoms can absorb infrared radiation with characteristic wavelengths for detection with NDIR technology. JXCT elaborates the principle of Italian Novasis gas sensor from the following five aspects:

The Italian Novasis gas sensor is based on NDIR(non-dispersive infrared) technology, but it consists of some special features that make it different in the market.

  1. NDIR dual channel

Dual-channel technology allows for more stable gas concentration measurements over time, compensates for changes in infrared light source emission, and minimizes aging effects. The light detector is equipped with two interference band pass filters, the first centred on the wavelength of the absorbing gas and the second used as a reference.

  1. Infrared pyroelectric photodetector

The photodetector used in the Novasis sensor in Italy has high performance in responsiveness, low noise and integrated channel for temperature measurement (measurement compensation is 0-50°C) and is the latest technology for monitoring gas concentration applications.

  1. Solid-state source infrared

The Italian Novasis sensor integrates an IR-MEMS transmitter, which consists of an integrated resistance heating element on a thin dielectric film. Spectral emission characteristics are “black body” with high emissivity, low power consumption and high average life, with constant emission characteristics.

  1. Gas analysis tank

The optical gas analysis unit is designed with a non-sequential ray tracking software tool to maximize the effective length of the light path with the smallest footprint possible to achieve the desired performance. The gas analysis unit is made from highly reflective aluminum or AISI316(and two calcium fluoride optical Windows) for corrosive industrial environments to limit corrosion.

  1. Electronic circuit board

Italian Novasis sensor is a kind of “intelligent sensor”. Its electronic board is equipped with a powerful microprocessor for computing concentration measurements, I/O, diagnostics, and also optional in a wireless data transmitter version, with features such as battery power management and charging using solar panels.

Product Introduction:

JXCT infrared gas sensor is also a very high quality gas sensor, the product is divided into pump and diffusion type. Sensor module adopts NDIR infrared absorption detection principle. The infrared radiation emitted by the infrared light source is absorbed by the measured gas at a certain concentration. The spectral intensity varies in direct proportion to the gas concentration. Therefore, the concentration of the gas to be measured can be inverted by obtaining the change of spectral light intensity. Combined with advanced optical path, precision circuit and intelligent software, the universal infrared NO sensor module is formed.
